That 70s Show Cast Then And Now

That 70s Show Cast Then And Now

“That ’70s Show” first aired on TV in August 1998 and lasted for eight seasons before coming to a close in May 2006. Can you believe that it’s been a whole 12 years since we seen Topher Grace, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis in full 70s garb?!

The hit show provided iconic lines and hysterical scenes. And let’s not forget that it also paved the way for one of Hollywood’s favorite celebrity couples— Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.

Most of the main cast members from “That ’70s Show” continue to act, but have also ventured into writing books, directing, and producing.

Since the high school stoner comedy wrapped, we’ve seen them a ton, what with one of them being on a certain Netflix megahit and two of them going and marrying each other in real life. What has the gang from That ’70s Show been up to since they left Wisconsin? You’re about to find out!

Keep reading to see what the cast has been up to since the series finale aired…

1) Topher Grace

Grace played Eric, the straight-arrow protagonist of the series whose basement became the group’s favorite hangout. He was a smart-aleck from the start right through until the 7th season when he unfortunately left.

Eric is the front-man and ringleader of the circus, but is rarely respected. He is the one who comes up with the plans and schemes, often trying to break free of his “square goody-goody rep.” But such plans often do backfire in one way or the other.

After leaving That ’70s Show, Grace focused on his movie career and went straight into playing Venom in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3, while also appearing in the 2010 Predators remake and Christopher Nolan epic Interstellar.

Topher’s next big project is horror film Delirium with Patricia Clarkson, due to hit screens next month!

Grace started dating actress Ashley Hinshaw in January 2014, and the two were engaged in January 2015. On May 29, 2016, Grace and Hinshaw married near Santa Barbara, California. On August 1, 2017, Hinshaw confirmed that she and Grace are expecting their first child. Their daughter, Mabel Jane Grace, was born in November 2017.

2) Mila Kunis

Jackie Burkhart is a principal character on That ’70s Show, portrayed by the amazing Mila Kunis!

Jackie is the self-absorbed, snobby, rich girl and girlfriend of Kelso, Hyde, and then Fez. She is introduced in the pilot episode primarily as Michael Kelso’s girlfriend. She likes to give advice which often sounds typically thoughtless and superficial but turns out to be occasionally correct.

In 1991, at the age of seven, Mila Kunis moved from the Ukrainian SSR to the United States with her family. After being enrolled in acting classes as an after-school activity, she was soon discovered by an agent. She appeared in several television series and commercials, before acquiring her first significant role prior to her 15th birthday, playing Jackie Burkhart on the television series That ’70s Show.

Since 1999, she has voiced Meg Griffin on the animated series Family Guy and appeared in many films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Black Swan and Ted.

Kunis began dating actor Macaulay Culkin in 2002. During their relationship, there were rumors of the couple getting married, but Kunis denied them. In an interview with BlackBook magazine, Kunis stated that marriage is “not something that’s important to me”.

Kunis began dating her former That ’70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher in April 2012! They became engaged in February 2014, and married during the first weekend of July 2015 in Oak Glen, California. The beautiful couple now have two children together!

3) Ashton Kutcher

Ashton Kutcher plays the role of Michael Kelso in the show and is known for being the tall, lanky, dim-witted, pretty-boy of the group. Michael enjoys a good “burn”, a painful humiliation to someone. He screams “Burn!” anytime anyone says a burn.

He coasts through life on his good looks and his behavior is very much in line with a stereotypical oversexed lunkhead. Apart from acting incredibly stupid, Michael is also known to be quite sensitive. Michael is shown in a flashback as a 13-year-old, stating that he is lost all interest in school and academic aspirations suggesting that he was not always as dumb as people believe him to be.

Kutcher made his film debut in the romantic comedy Coming Soon in 1999 and became known by audiences in the comedy film Dude, Where’s My Car? He also appeared in romantic comedies such as Just Married and  My Boss’s Daughter.

In the same year, he created, produced, and hosted Punk’d which aired on MTV for five seasons until its revival in 2012. In 2004, Kutcher starred in the lead role of the psychological film The Butterfly Effect – what a movie!

As mentioned above- he is married to co-star Mila Kunis and they have two adorable children together!

4) Laura Prepon

Prepon played Donna Pinciotti throughout the show’s entire run. Donna is an intelligent, witty, red-haired, tall (5’10), strong, athletic teenager with feminist ideals, who is outwardly confident and strong-willed- sometimes to the point of coming across as arrogant or self-righteous.

She has some difficulty expressing her feminine side, for fear that displaying traditional feminine traits will serve as a betrayal of her feminism. She dons skirts and dresses for special occasions but mostly wears jeans and pants in her day to day life.

Apart from That ’70s show, Prepon is also well known for her portrayal of Alex Vause in the Netflix original comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black.

Prepon has worked mainly in television. However, in 2011 she made her film debut with the independent film Southlander. Her other films include the romantic drama Come Early Morning, the comedy Lay the Favorite, the thriller The Girl on the Train, and the drama The Hero (2017).

In June 2017, a pregnant Prepon confirmed on Live with Kelly and Ryan that she and her fiancé, actor Ben Foster, were expecting a girl. The parents did not announce a birth date, but Prepon in September 2017 talked of being a working mother, and in April 2018 made public their daughter’s name, Ella. Prepon and Foster live in New York.

Prepon is a Scientologist.

5) Wilmer Valderrama

Fez is a main character on That ’70s Show, portrayed by Wilmer Valderrama.

One of the shows running gags is that no one knows what country Fez is from. Fez is merely the phonetic version of the acronym FES: Foreign Exchange Student. He is the “foreign kid” of the group (as Red calls him) who marches to the beat of his own drummer. He also loves the ladies!

The perennially lustful Fez has had a solid career since the show’s demise over ten years ago, with regular roles for Valderrama in Grey’s Anatomy, Minority Report and NCIS. Wilmer is currently playing Carlos Madrigal in American horror television series From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.

Apart from acting, Valderrama is also a singer! You’ll hear his voice as Prince Charming in animated film Charming, also featuring the vocal talents of Sia, Demi Lovato and Avril Lavigne. Lovely!

He is currently believed to be single but has dated the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Demi Lovato in the past.

6) Debra Jo Rupp

Debra Jo Rupp played Kitty Forman in the show. Kitty is married to Red Forman and is mother to daughter Laurie, with whom she has a stressful relationship, and son Eric, whom she has a habit of overprotecting, even to the point of saying that his girlfriend Donna Pinciotti seduced her “poor boy and tricked him into having sex with her” in “Parents Find Out”, which could not be further from the truth.

Kitty is a caring mother and is usually a caretaker for the neighborhood kids. She is generally a nice person except when either stressed out or annoyed. Whenever stressed out, Kitty normally does her famous laugh in a shrill voice, squints her eyes, or makes sarcastic remarks (akin to Eric!)

Debra Jo Rupp is also known for playing Alice Knight-Buffay on the third, fourth and fifth seasons of Friends. She also voiced “Mary Helperman” in the animated series Teacher’s Pet and its sequel film, as well as timid secretary Miss Patterson in Big.

In 2012, Rupp portrayed Ruth in She Wants Me, an independent romantic comedy. In June and July 2012, Rupp starred as Dr. Ruth Westheimer in “Dr. Ruth – All the Way” on the St. Germain Stage of the Barrington Stage Company.  She reprised the role Off-Broadway in Becoming Dr. RuthShe also provided the voice of Mrs. Snowman in one of Fred Meyer’s commercial ads in 2013. Quite the back catalogue of work!

Rupp divides her time between Los Angeles and Lee, Massachusetts. She is single and has no children. Rupp is also a Methodist.

7) Danny Materson

Danny Materson plays Steven Hyde on the hit show- he is the bastard son of William Barnett and Edna Hyde, legal son of Bud Hyde, and foster member of the Forman family.

Hyde represents the adolescent of the seventies that was suspicious of government and organizations. In the first couple of episodes of the first season, Hyde was comparatively less intelligent than in later episodes and more “street smart”. However, Hyde quickly falls into the role of the intelligent “tough guy”.

Hyde, like Eric, has a witty, blunt, and sarcastic sense of humor. He does not seem to take things seriously, but as the series progresses, the compassion, gratitude and love he has for those around him is extremely evident!

As well as his role of Steven Hyde, Materson is also known as Jameson “Rooster” Bennett from the Netflix special The Ranch before being dropped from the series in 2017.

In March 2017, four women alleged they were raped by Masterson in the early 2000s, prompting a Los Angeles Police Department investigation. Masterson, through his agent, has denied the allegations, and Masterson has not been charged or arrested.

In response to the accusations, Netflix fired Masterson from its comedy series The Ranch on December 5, 2017, saying in a statement, “Yesterday was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him.” Masterson stated that he is “obviously very disappointed in Netflix’s decision to write my character off of The Ranch.”

Masterson is a Scientologist. He started dating Bijou Phillips in 2005, they became engaged in 2009,  and married on October 18, 2011. They had daughter Fianna Francis Masterson on February 14, 2014.

8) Kurtwood Smith

Reginald Albert “Red” Forman is a main character on FOX comedy That ’70s Show. Red Forman is portrayed by veteran film actor Kurtwood Smith.

Red is a gruff veteran with a dry sense of humor who served in WWII as a US Navy sailor stationed aboard a Destroyer which goes down in the Pacific and in Korea also as a sailor. Red’s hobbies include hunting and fishing.

He is a tough, no-nonsense father and tends to favor his daughter Laurie whom he does not realize is a ‘slut’, and he is shrew over his son Eric, whom he considers soft and wimpy.

As well as playing Red Forman, Smith is also known for playing Clarence Boddicker in RoboCop. He has also had many appearances in science fiction films and television programs (Star Trek, The X-Files). As well as starring in the seventh season of 24.

One of his smaller, less known roles was that of  Neil Leonard in 1989’s Dead Poets Society (he was Robert Sean Leonard strict father!)

Smith married Cecilia Souza in 1964- however the couple divorced in 1974. Smith married Joan Pirkle, who appeared with him in Robocop, in 1988. Smith has one daughter, Laurel Garner, and one son, Shannon Smith. The family live in Glendale, California.

9) Tanya Roberts

This former Bond girl Roberts (Roger Moore’s final outing, A View to a Kill) played Bob’s feminist wife, Midge Pinciotti, who left her husband and moved to California in season three (returning for the odd guest appearance).

It was 1998 when Roberts took the role of Midge Pinciotti on the show, however, Roberts revealed on E! True Hollywood Story that she left the series in 2001 because her husband had become terminally ill.

She wrote the foreword to the book, The Q Guide to Charlie’s Angels.

Roberts was married to husband Barry Roberts from 1974 until his death in 2006.

They had no children.  Roberts resides in Hollywood Hills, California and is believed to be single.
