It’s not just young people who use social media. People of every generation are attracted to Facebook because of how easy it makes it to catch up with old friends as well as making new ones.
Still, some of them don’t quite get it. Here is an adorable gallery of older people getting the Facebook thing a little wrong.
1. Does not compute
This senior thought that you could just use a voice command to upload your holiday snaps.
2. Public display of affection
This woman expressing her love for her granddaughter is the most wholesome thing I’ve seen all day.
3. Pretty as a picture
I don’t know if she meant to post this to the Walmart page, or if it had anything to do with Walmart, but at least they were nice about it.
4. Public service announcement
5. Paperback writer
So this grandma wrote out a physical note advertising that she needed a gardener, and then posted a picture of the note, rather than just typing it out. This is possibly the cutest thing ever.
6. Facebook trained
Yeah, that’s literally a printout of a Facebook comment section that she has had printed out and taken on the train. It had better be an Aunty Acid post!
7. Named and shamed
Obviously this senior isn’t aware that these texts are from a spam account. It’s just part of the modern world!
She felt the need to say goodnight to a steakhouse chain. I love steak too, but wow. How often does she post on their wall?
9. Mamma mia!
It does kinda look like a lasagna though. It’s not anyone else’s fault that you posted this picture without a caption, is it?
10. Information overload
Yeah, I agree with the grandchild here. Some things are best left to conversation! Or, you know, you could just keep stuff like this between you and your doctor.
11. Honesty is the best policy
If this was an exchange between two younger people on Facebook, this would have resulted in some serious beef. Josephine was really nice about it though!
12. It’s not Google
I think Patricia was trying to buy a shower chair online, but that’s not exactly how it works. At least the Walmart social media manager was on the ball though! Thinking about it, I’m sure they get posts like this every day.
13. Good advice
There’s random, and then there’s this comment from Susan. Out of curiosity, do you think that anyone was about to microwave their cat, saw this, and stopped?
14. Crazy cat lady
This woman’s grandma is a straight-up savage. Just no subtlety, no ettiquette, nothing. I wouldn’t talk to grandpa for a while after this – that cat is adorable!
15. Not so much
Another savage grandma makes her thoughts known to Ashley and all of her friends. Why do they have no grasp of social media etiquette?!
When Wendy’s is life and you won’t let it go down without a fight. I hear you, Christine! Although I think the all caps and “PLEASE HELP US’ might have been overdoing it a little.
17. There was an attempt
I think this person tried to find a funny image to post for their friends birthday, as a lot of us do, but then just gave up and posted the Google search results. Oh well, at least they tried! Kinda…
18. Rob means business
What are you gonna do, Rob? Call the internet police on Best Buy’s social media manager?
19. Lost and found
It’s great that you found your nephew, but I don’t think you quite understand how this social media thing works.
20. Career opportunities
Grandparents have no filter in real life, so why would they be any different on Facebook?
