14 Mysterious Celebrity Deaths That Will Chill You To The Bone

Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction.

1. Albert Dekker

Albert Dekker was an actor most well known for his role in Kiss Me Deadly. Back in 1968, Albert had been missing for a couple of days.

After being missing for a few days, his fiancé found him naked and kneeling in his bathroom tub. 

Albert had been bound with chains, he had a noose was wrapped around his neck and it was hung from a curtain rod.

His fiance found hypodermic needles sticking from both of his arms, and their slurs were written all over his body with lipstick.

Albert’s death was ruled a suicide by the police, which was rejected by the coroner and press. No further investigation was ever launched, and according to police Albert died from “accidental death from auto-erotic asphyxiation.”

2. Bob Crane

Sadly for Bob, his death wasn’t a pleasant experience.

Bob Crane was found bludgeoned to death with an electrical cord tied tightly around his neck. His body was found alone in his apartment in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The primary suspect was John Carpenter, a “friend” of Bob’s who was in town to meet him.

Despite police finding blood in Carpenter’s car that matched Crane’s blood type, Carpenter was acquitted.

Bob Crane’s murder is still unsolved.

3. Tupac Shakur

We’re all very familiar with the murder of Tupac Shakur. 

He was murdered in Las Vegas in 1996 while he was waiting in a car at a red light.

Tupac was shot four times, with one bullet hitting his left lung.

It’s suspected that Orlando Anderson, a member of a rival gang, had killed Tupac.

A few hours earlier the pair were seen fighting. However, Anderson was the only interviewed once by police and never charged.

There are a number of people who believe Tupac’s murder is linked to the murder of the Notorious B.I.G.

4. George Reeves

George Reeves is best known for his role in the 1950s TV show Superman.

But his stardom was cut short after he was killed. Reeves died from a bullet in the head.

His death was originally thought to be suicide, but the lack of gunpowder on his hands suggest that he may have been murdered. There are some people who believe his ex-lover, Toni Mannix, is to blame for his death. 

5. Bruce Lee

The death of Bruce Lee shocked the world because of how quick and simple it was.

Before his death, Bruce Lee complained about his bad headache, took aspirin, and then went for a nap. He didn’t wake up.

Bruce Lee was rushed to the hospital and declared dead on July 20, 1973. The official cause of death was an allergic reaction to aspirin. His death caused a lot of conspiracy theories, on even stated that the Lee family were cursed.

6. Brandon Lee

Bruce Lee’s son, Brandon Lee, was killed during production of The Crow.

Brandon was set to film a scene in which he gets shot with a prop gun. But in reality, the shot was real.

Brandon Lee died after being shot with a prop gun because the gun was improperly prepared.

The rumor of the “Lee curse” was reignited. 

7. Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley famously died in his bathroom in 1977.

However, the cause of death is still heavily disputed to this day.

During Elvis’s autopsy, Dr. Jerry Francisco determined that the cause of death was cardiac arrhythmia, also known as an irregular heartbeat. Dr. Francisco claimed that drugs didn’t play a role Presley’s death, despite the fact that the toxicology report had not come back by the time he had made that claim.

When the toxicology reports came back they showed there were high levels of painkillers in his system.

Presley’s primary doctor, Dr. George Nichopoulos, was accused of overprescribing pills to Presley. 

8. Brittany Murphy

Brittany Murphy died at her home on the 20th of December, 2009. The Los Angeles County coroner pronounced that the cause of death was pneumonia, iron-deficiency, and drug intoxication.

Sadly, six months after her death, Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack died in the same home.

Both Simon and Brittany died of pneumonia and anemia.

9. Bobby Fuller

Bobby Fuller was only 23 when he died in a car which was parked outside his apartment.

His body was covered in gasoline and bruises. When he went missing before his body was found, people thought that he had killed himself, but when his body was found, he was in an “advanced state of rigor mortis”.

This suggested that Bobby had been dead for a while.

10. Jimmy Hoffa

After being missing for several years, Jimmy Hoffa, a labor union leader, was declared dead due to absentia in 1982.

This essentially refers to the absence of any evidence that a person is still alive.

Jimmy Hoffa was last spotted at the Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, where he had arranged to meet two mob leaders: Anthony Giacalone and Anthony Provenzano.

But the mob leaders were late, so Jimmy called his wife and told him he’d wait a few more minutes for the leaders. That was the last time they spoke. Jimmy’s wife reported him missing later that day.

His car was found unlocked with no clues about his whereabouts. When questioned, the mod leaders denied meeting him that day. 

11. Natalie Wood

Natalie Wood is best known for her role in movies like West Side Story and Rebel Without a Cause.

In 1981, Natalie Wood was found dead. She had drowned just off the coast of Catalina Island in California.

Natalie was spending the weekend on a yacht with her husband, Robert Wagner, Christopher Walken, and the boat’s captain. 

Her death was classified as an “accidental drowning.” However, many people think Natalie was murdered by her husband.

12. Peter Ivers

Similar to Bob Cranes, Peter Ivers was found bludgeoned to death by a hammer in his Los Angeles apartment in 1983.

While police were investigating the crime scene, the officers didn’t secure the area correctly. So, people came to Ivers’ apartment to look at the crime scene for themselves.

They tampered with potential evidence, which made it harder for the police to conduct a proper investigation. Nobody was tried for the murder of Peter Ivers due to the lack of evidence at the crime scene.

13. William Desmond Taylor

Taylor was a famous director during the 1910s and 20s.

But on the 2nd of February, 1922, police found Taylor dead. They found him laying on the floor, he had been shot.

There were two women who were romantically linked to Taylor and they were suspected of doing the deed.

Mabel Normand was the first suspect, but she was later sent to a sanatorium where she was treated. Mabel later died from tuberculosis.

The second suspect was a woman called Mary Minter, she was a teenage actress who had worked with Taylor. Mary had apparently fallen in love with him.

A love letter from Minter to Taylor was discovered at the scene of the crime, as well as Mary’s nightgown in Taylor’s bedroom.

Mary’s mother had a history of threatening directors who made passes at her daughter. While it’s true that both Mary and her mother were at Taylor’s house on the night he died, the case is unsolved.

14. Marilyn Monroe

While Marilyn’s death seems to be a simple overdose, there are a number of conspiracies surrounding her death.

Some believe she was murdered because she was planning on going public about an alleged affair she was having with JFK, while others claim her death was staged.
