Simple Ways You Can Help Relieve Toothache Pain At Home

Toothache can be one of the worst pains that anyone can ever suffer through. It seems like such a simple, small thing to someone who’s never really suffered from it, but anyone who’s ever had proper tooth pain knows that it’s absolutely excruciating. It feels like your face is about to split open and leaves you unable to sleep or concentrate on anything else. On a pain scale of one to ten, tooth ache can easily turn it all the way up to eleven!

Some people may even try to suffer through toothache pain, as going to the dentist is never a pleasant thing. If you’re particularly frightened of the dentist’s chair, you may put off getting your teeth looked at by a professional until the pain is just too much to handle. I don’t blame them, there’s something really grim about sitting in that chair while someone pokes around in your mouth, but that doesn’t mean they’re right to leave it so late.

Sometimes, the pain you’re experiencing may not even have been caused by a cavity or bad dental hygiene. There are lots of reasons your tooth could be causing you pain, including sinus infections, having sensitive teeth, having a chipped tooth, and repetitive movement like grinding your teeth. Sometimes you just can’t win when it comes to your teeth, but there are some simple things you can do at home to relieve the pain if you can’t see a dentist straight away.

If your toothache is unrelated to a cavity, you may want to try some natural remedies that can give you a break from toothache, and may even get rid of it entirely! But again, we’ve got to stress that you really should see a dentist if your teeth are causing you that much pain. After all, they’re the ones with the medical degrees, not me!

One of the most popular remedies for toothache pain is the use of cloves. You may think that this spice is only useful in foods and drinks, but you’d be surprised at the difference it can make to your toothache. That’s because cloves contain eugenol, a powerful anaesthetic and antiseptic that helps to stop the pain you’re feeling in it’s tracks. And not only will it help the pain, but it will destroy the bacteria that’s causing your pain! What a win-win situation!
