The 34-year-old reality star – who has Mason, eight, Penelope, five and three-year-old Reign with his former lover – still has a touch of the green eyed monster over the bond between Kourtney and her new beau Younes Bendjima.
A source told E! News: “Scott is still insanely jealous of Younes. He just can’t come to terms with the fact that Kourtney has found true happiness with someone else.”
The insider claimed that while Scott – who was with the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star on and off for nine years until 2015 – is “happy” with his own relationship with Sofia, 19, he is struggling to “deal with someone else having Kourtney.
The former couple are trying to remain civil as they push on with the aim of co-parenting for the sake of their children, it’s said that the star’s apparent jealousy has made things “tense”.
The source explaind: “It makes things between them tense and unpredictable. Kourtney never knows when he is going to fly off the handle or go nuts about something. Scott just never thought it would last this long with Younes or become so serious. Nobody really did.”
Kourtney started dating the 24-year-old hunky model in 2016, and it’s said she is “in love” and “very happy” with her new man.
Despite his own new romance, the insider has added to E! News that Scott still feels “hurt” that she chose another man over him.
The source said: “Scott is hurt she chose someone else and it really bothers him. He can’t control his emotions about it and lets it all out.”
It follows reports from last year which claimed Scott “couldn’t stand” seeing pictures of his ex with the former boxer, which is her first serious relationship since their split.
A source said at the time: “Scott doesn’t like Kourtney dating Younes at all. He doesn’t want to see photos of them or know about it.
“Kourtney has tried to give Scott a heads up that he might be seeing photos, but Scott can’t stand seeing her with someone else, especially Younes.”
More recently, it’s been claimed that communication between them has completely broken down after a row over her new love – and now Kourtney is keen to put some space between them as they both try to move on.
A source explained: “Kourtney stopped taking Scott’s calls, and stopped talking to him because it’s just like Groundhog Day for her.
“She just wants to get on with life, to move on, and would love to be working on building a co-parenting relationship with Scott. They don’t really talk anymore.”
It’s said that she feels she can be happy without any of the dramas that Scott brings, and doesn’t think it helps them with remaining civil for the sake of their children.
The insider told The Sun Online: “Kourt is in a good place without him and his drama in her life. She just needs space from him.
“Whenever she does try to work on the co-parenting relationship, he either flies off the handle about Younes, or tries to cause drama.”
It came after an episode of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’, in which Scott actually issued a threat against Younes, which prompted his ex to take steps to keep a distance between them both – even having a nanny or her assistant discuss the children with Scott.
A source close to Kourtney said: “Kourt just thinks it’s too much – the kids come first with her.
“When it comes to discussing anything to do with the kids or planning, she has one of the nannies or her assistant do it.
“When it comes to general life stuff, she has her mom call him – or else Kim.
“He listens to them, because he has to – his future depends on staying in their good books.”
Meanwhile, Sofia’s father Lionel Richie previously addressed her romance with Scott, and described it as a “phase” because his daughter is still just 19 years old.
Speaking to Australia’s News Corp about the pair’s high profile relationship, the 68-year-old ‘Hello’ hitmaker said: “It’s just a phase and I’m going to stand real still in the corner, get me a good drink and not make too much noise.
“Now I know what my parents meant when I came through the door with my Afro and my girlfriend and said ‘Dad, I’m in love.’ My daughter is getting me back for my Afro days! She’s 19. When you’re 19 you know everything.”
He also previously expressed concern over the 15-year age gap separating the couple, and even admitted he was “scared to death” as her father.
He said: “Have I been in shock?! I’m the dad, come on. I’m scared to death, are you kidding me?”
