Remember how much fun bath time was when you were a little kid? You had your favourite bath toys, probably including a yellow rubber ducky, tonnes of bubbles and you got to soak your parents as they tried to clean you up. There was definitely more fun at bath time when you were a kid than you’ll find as an adult!
When you’re a child everything is so innocent and the differences between men and women or boys and girls don’t seem to phase you. You might even share a bath with your sibling, if you were close enough in age, and you didn’t care which parent was the one to clean you up after a day of playing in the park. It was just something you did. This is why the decision of one Mom has stumped parents around the world.
The Mom in question is an anonymous woman from Queensland, Australia and she’s recently explained her reasons for not wanting her daughters’ father to bathe them on Facebook. She isn’t comfortable with Dad doing the bathing because they have “different body parts”. Well yes, they do have different body parts, but is anyone else struggling to see what her problem is?
Part of the post read, “So hubby is upset with me because I have told him that I don’t (want him to) wash our two daughters in the bath or shower. I just believe that girls should be getting washed by their mothers and boys get the same from their fathers. It’s just got to do with the fact that mum and daughters have the same parts, same goes for men and their sons.”
