Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
What looks beautiful to me may look entirely hideous to someone else. It’s just a part of being different.
However, there are some opinions on beauty and what looks good that overlaps.
Like women who like a man with muscles or a beard, and men who like women with a lot of junk in their trunk and someone with big lips.
Some of this similarity is through media exposure, but some of it is more scientific.
Apparently, the scientific reason why some men like a woman with a big butt are because it shows how easily they’ll get pregnant and give birth.
When it comes to most things we like or do, there’s always an element of genetics and science, and this is no exception when it comes to finding a woman/man who has a certain body type.
According to a recent study which was conducted by Dr. Lobke M Vaanholt and her team, men tend to go for a certain body type, and the results will certainly surprise you.
The study revealed that women with a BMI of 17-20 were actually regarded as most attractive!
The research was helmed by Professor John Speakman of the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing in collaboration with the Institute of Biological and Environmental Sciences at the University of Aberdeen.
It would turn out to be a very interesting and insightful study for the researchers.
The hunt to find out the most attractive body type led Vaanholt and her team to give participants, who were men from all over the world, a cluster of 21 pictures showing different body shapes to look at and rank them in order from most attractive to least attractive.
“We asked people to rate the images of different levels of attractiveness, with four groups in Africa, three in Asia and three in Europe.”
Unfortunately for some, most participants rated the thin women as most attractive, meaning that women with low body mass index/ borderline underweight were seen as the most attractive.
“In all the groups, people preferred the thinnest images, which didn’t agree at all with the model we had used to predict attractiveness,” Vaanholt, told Evening Express UK. “People generally associated a thinner body with a younger age.”
But, just in case you were wondering, what’s the possible reason for this choice of partners?
