Rob and Joli first met each other while traveling, and they quickly fell in love.
The problem came when they both went home… each to their respective countries. Rob is from the USA and Joli is from the Philippines, which are over 8,000 miles apart.
They became friends on Facebook and arranged to meet back up again. They both loved to travel, why not meet ‘halfway’? Both traveling to different countries around the world for a vacation and to meet up.
So that’s what they did. And during their trips, they began a tradition of taking at least one posed “dip kiss photo” in the places they visited.
Over the years, they have gathered quite a collection of these photos – always in the same pose, always in wildly different places.
And what happens to a couple who fall in love? Well, read on to find out.
1. Milan, Italy
In the square outside the amazing Duomo di Milano, the city’s cathedral.
2. Utah, United States of America
Monument Valley! What a place, it’s monumental.
3. Kizhi, Russia
Kizhi Island is at the center of Lake Onega, and houses the exquisite Kizhi Pogost, entirely made out of wood and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
4. Washington DC, United States of America
This one’s kinda boring, I’d have gone with the White House. Who takes all these photos, anyway?
5. St. Petersburg, Russia
Peterhof Palace is a series of palaces and gardens located in Petergof, laid out on the orders of Peter the Great. These palaces and gardens are sometimes referred as the ‘Russian Versailles’, and you can see why!
6. San Francisco, United States of America
Sheesh, I never knew you needed to wrap up warm on the west coast! The Golden Gate bridge looks cold!
7. Florida, United States of America
In Disney World, where else!? Hey, that’s not how these pictures go, pucker up!
8. New Mexico, United States of America
Albuquerque isn’t just Bug Bunny’s favorite place, it’s the home of Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta!
9. North Carolina, United States of America
Grandfather Mountain looks pretty dang high!
10. California, United States of America
Napa Valley, where you can get good and drunk before you go in for your ‘dip kiss’ if you want to try this yourself. By the way, what is it with these people and the weather on the west coast? I thought it never rained in southern California… well, it does pour, I guess. Man, it pours.
11. Lisbon, Portugal
That there is the iconic quarter façade of the Tower of Belém on the bank of the Tagus River, a fortified tower built in the 16th century.
