It was already widely known that the singer had been struggling with drug addiction for a number of years. He had revealed in the past that he had thought of committing suicide due to the fact he had been abused as a child by an older male.

Chester was also a very close friend to the late Chris Cornell. Cornell also committed suicide earlier this year by hanging in May. Today would have been the 52rd birthday of Chris Cornell.

Lincin Park are probably most famous for their hits “Faint,” “In the End” and “Crawling.” Linkin Park crossed music genres, collaborating with Jay-Z.

They had an album called “Meteroa,” which was one of the biggest alternative albums in music history.

Chester Bennington was just 41. May he rest in peach.
