Almost every woman has a period, and while each woman’s periods differ slightly, we all find common ground over some of the things involved with that lovely time of the month.
Periods are horrible.
They are essentially biological ninjas that can surprise you at any minute, and they can make the next couple of days a living hell.
They ruin our favorite knickers and make us go crazy for days on end, as we feel like our ovaries are being torn apart.
Not only that but we have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for tampons and pads.
Getting your period is a pretty intense time in a woman’s life, especially the lead up to it.
Every girl in the world knows every terrible detail about Mother Nature monthly visit to remind you that your not pregnant and to punish you for it by subjecting you to a crazy amount of hormones and a whole new world of pain.
Our hormones start to go all over the place, leaving us often feeling like we’re in a glass cage of pure emotion, and that we’re soon going to become a walking puddle made out of tears and period blood.
It may sound gross, but it’s something a lot of women who struggle with their periods will agree with.
Most people go through terrible cramps, emotions, and hormones that are all over the place, and the constant fear of bleeding through.
But despite half of the world suffering from the many joys of periods, there is still a lot of stigma and shame around periods.
How ridiculous is that?
Periods are perfectly natural, and it’s nothing to shame or being embraced by.
There are some people who would gladly ban the open discussion of periods is they had their way, and I find that both idiotic and offensive.
What can I say, I’m easily offended by stupid notions like that!
Talking about periods isn’t a bad thing, in fact, it’s actually quite helpful.
If you’re struggling with your time of the month, discussing it helps air your issues and make you feel a little bit better.
But also talking about the subject will hopefully reduce the taboo surrounding the topic. That way children in the future won’t think girls and women are any less of a person because they bleed once a month.
Also, talking about periods will help educate people on periods. When I first started my period I barely knew anything about it. I saw the blood and thought I was going to die!
There are some men who also think the average amount of blood a woman’s body produces during their period is enough to fill a shot glass.
Is that really acceptable? No, I didn’t think so.
There are lots of painful extras women have to face during their periods.
Luckily for some women, their period is relatively safe and easy –it’s a bit of bleeding and then it’s gone. But, for some poor women, all the little extras can be a real pain, especially the cramps. They can be a serious, serious issue.
But thankfully for us unfortunate ladies who have a hell of a time menstruating, one company is turning to a very different alternative to help alleviate your period cramps and pain.
An alternative sanitary product company is turning to herbal remedies to ease your period cramps by implementing marijuana into tampons.
Sounds pretty crazy to me, but it promises to ease your period cramps and all the pain that comes with it in 20 minutes!
Now that’s a big relief.
Foria is the company behind this inspired and wacky idea.
