The 37-year-old reality star attended Madonna’s Academy Awards party following the Oscars ceremony and despite the star-studded room being filled with the industries’ most famous celebrities, the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ beauty managed to make sure all eyes were on her as she posed for pictures in a skin-tight dress which exposed the top of her famous behind.
Kim – who is sporting a new bubblegum pink hairstyle – posed alongside Madonna and singer Cardi B at the party, but it was when she confidently posed solo that the cameras caught a glimpse of the unusual fashion choice.
She has been hailed a style icon in recent years, often taking risks with her looks and experimenting with her style.
Whatever she chooses to wear instantly becomes a success among her millions of followers, with similar styles appearing throughout the fashion market for people to replicate her style.
On her recent trip to Tokyo, Japan, Kim proved she was the best model to draw attention to her husband Kanye West’s athleisure fashion brand Yeezy, and she shared several photos detailing the unreleased items from her trip.
Kim posted a series of three tweets in a variety of outfits made up of pieces that have become popular Yeezy staples throughout the past six collections, such as biker shorts, shearling jackets, knee-high boots and mini dresses.
Taking to Twitter to post the pictures of her outfits, she said: “I’m gonna post some Tokyo fashion real quick since it’s 5am and I can’t sleep”
Another tweet confirmed the star was sporting the brand’s new collection, as she wrote that her outfits were “all Yeezy season 7 (sic)”.
Kim has used attention-grabbing techniques in the past to promote her husband’s fashion line, such as posting photographs of 36-year-old socialite Paris Hilton replicating her style on Instagram.
Paris agreed to become Kim’s clone for the images, wearing and posing in the same manner as the Kim had done in an earlier promotion for the brand, which Kim captioned:”#YeezySeason6 #ParisHilton #ForeverTheOG YEEZYSUPPLY.COM”
The KKW Beauty mogul is used to making headlines with more than just her style choices, and has often shown off her ample curves in various naked photographs.
In 2014, Kim made headlines when she posed fully nude for the cover of Paper Magazine’s #BreakTheInternetIssue in photographs shot by Jean-Paul Goude.
Her husband even posted the shocking images on his Twitter, which was retweeted 70,000 times.
He wrote: “the butt cover #ALLDAY”
The Guardian newspaper reported that Kim’s cover photo drove so much traffic that it accounted for nearly one percent of the entire web browsing activity in the United States one full day after the story was posted.
And in 2017, Kim posted a picture to her Instagram account of her climbing a tree wearing nothing but a pair of Timberland boots, which racked up more than 300,000 likes in under an hour.
She captioned the image: “So honored to have been photographed by Mert and Marcus for their book new book! 20 years in the making! It’s out on Sept 7th in NYC #mertandmarcus @mertalas @macpiggott #taschen.”
The mum-of-three is also a fan of the “naked selfie”, posting a racy picture in 2016 to her account with the caption: “When you’re like I have nothing to wear LOL” which is approaching nearly two million likes.
Kim – who brought out a book of her famous selfies – has received criticism for choosing to display her exposed body to her extremely large following.
Actress Bette Midler was quick to criticise the star’s nude selfies in 2016, tweeting: “Kim Kardashian tweeted a nude selfie today. If Kim wants us to see a part of her we’ve never seen, she’s gonna have to swallow the camera.”
But in spite of her critics, model Emily Ratajakowski – who was also criticised for appearing topless in Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ music video in 2013 – showed support for Kim as she posed alongside her in a topless photo on her Instagram page.
She captioned it: “we are more than just out bodies, but that doesn’t mean we have to be shamed for them or our sexuality. #liberated”
Kim was awarded the first ever Break the Internet award at the 2016 Webby Awards, where she promised not to stop taking nude pictures in her acceptance speech.
She said: “naked selfies until I die”.
Ahead of being awarded her gong, a spokesperson at the awards said: “The Webby Awards are excited to honor Kim Kardashian West with the inaugural Webby Break The Internet Award for her unparalleled success online. It would be difficult to underestimate the importance of Kim Kardashian West’s impact on the Internet. As the leading celebrity in terms of her online presence and understanding of how to connect with a global audience via social media, apps and online video, Kim has set the standard incredibly high.
“Kim has expanded her celebrity into new territories and, safe to say, to a high degree of success as well. For breaking the Internet and putting it back together in her likeness, it is our privilege to honor Kim Kardashian West with the first-ever Webby Break the Internet Award.”
Meanwhile, Kim has admitted she never expected to become so famous when the family began their reality show in 2007.
Kim – who has become one of the most recognisable people in the world over the last decade – confessed: “I thought I was just going to run my clothing store. I didn’t think [the show] would go beyond season one or two. And then as things were happening, my mom and I were so excited.”
She told Vogue India magazine: “We didn’t even know what we were starting, but we knew we were in it together. We definitely made so many mistakes. At first, we would be involved in anything.
“But it helped us work our way up to now, to launching a beauty brand completely by myself, and funding it all.”
