I think we can all agree that makeup is incredible stuff.

It’s practically magic!

Don’t believe me? Well, it can give women (and men) the confidence to go out and kick some butt at the same time! Who wouldn’t want to have that feeling?

Some people, particularly me, like to refer to our makeup as war paint. I’m not sure why, to be honest… I think it’s because it’s something we need to make ourselves feel more confident in our day to day life.

Now, I know there are some people who argue that women shouldn’t get their self-esteem from how they look or their makeup ability. And while I agree our looks shouldn’t be the main way we get our confidence, not every woman can deal without makeup. I know I can’t!

Most of you probably didn’t know that makeup has been around for centuries.

It all started off with the Egyptians, where makeup was used as a form of sun protection, and as a way for both men and women to show off their wealth and status.

There’s beauty to be found in a bare face, but it has to be said that makeup makes things a little more fun!

Especially when you’re experimenting with new makeup looks.

But sometimes you’ll come across a bold new makeup look or trend and question why it even exists in the first place.

Like shaved eyebrows or blue mascara? Why was that even a trend in the first place?!

2017 was a crazy year when it came to makeup trends, especially trends that revolve around eyebrows.

In 2017, we saw it all… Or at least, that’s what we thought. It turns out that’s not the case at all.

Insane eyebrows are definitely a makeup trend you’ll want to avoid, especially if it involves making your eyebrows into the shape of a halo.

Why anyone would want to have halo eyes is beyond me. Maybe they had some free time to fill and decided to start a stupid new trend, or maybe these beauty bloggers just want to stay relevant?

Who knows?!

Beauty blogger Hannah Lyne appears to be the one to have invented this questionable look.

She wrote on Instagram:

“HALO BROW lollll so me and @daisyamalie were talking about the fishtail brow trend & then we came up with this.

“@sleekmakeup vitality foundation in 04, and solstice highlight palette, @sosu_bysuzannejackson Primark Dubai lashes, @nyxcosmetics tame and frame brow pomade, espresso.”

But that’s not the only weird eyebrow trend Hannah Lyne has started.

A while ago she came up with a bold and very daring new eyebrow trend called the ‘triple brow’.

Apparently, one brow wasn’t enough.

Yep, she also turned her eyebrows Christmas decorations… Seriously?!

I’m not even sure I want to know why she did that.

Huda Kattan is a makeup artist, who has 22 million Instagram followers.

Back in 2017, she shared a snap of the brows, which made us question everything.

She wrote:

“I really REALLY want to encourage you guys to start your makeup page if it’s been something you’ve been wanting to do, even if you just wanna do it for fun.

“I know it can be intimidating but honestly I’m so glad I made the decision to start my own.

“You don’t “have to have” anything to start. You don’t have to have a lot of makeup or camera or even that much skill.”

Now as much as I’m partial to a nice Big Mac, I’m not at all tempted to dedicate my eyebrows or face to their logo.

To complete this disturbing new look, some people have even colored their eyebrows in yellow to complete the look.

Now that’s what I call dedication!

Now, if you’re crazy enough to want to try and recreate these eyebrows as a joke, then here’s what you need to do.

You need to cover up your existing eyebrows by using concealer and powder. Once they’re hidden, you should paint on faux brows as high as you can.

Remember, you want to mirror those golden arches.

Thankfully no one is taking these eyebrow trends seriously. I’d hate to see people recreate these brows at home!

Which makes me very happy because those McDonald’s eyebrows are creepy as hell!

I don’t know about you, but I’m hoping that by the end of the year it’ll be acceptable to have completely normal eyebrows!
