I don’t know about you but I hate having a house full of flies.
Flies are the worst unexpected visitors your house can have, and they’re a nightmare to get rid of.
Yes, it’s true you can use fly spray and fly swatters to try and ward off these evil critters, but that doesn’t always work, and those fly sprays can have some pretty nasty chemicals in them.
Do you really want to spray that around your house? I know I wouldn’t!
But thankfully there is a handy way to get rid of those pesky flies, and it’s completely natural and won’t harm you in the long run.
The only ones who’ll be getting hurt will be those flies, and they’ll soon be dead, so does it really matter?
Most of the things you need to get rid of any flies you have living in your house are right in your kitchen!
The main ingredient of this incredible fly eliminator is completely natural and very tasty.
If you can guess this secret ingredient by looking at the title, then I’ll tell you what it is.
It’s a banana!
Flies love fruit, and bananas are the perfect fruit to use to ensure those horrid flies.
Let’s get started, shall we?
Firstly, you’ll need a regular old plastic water bottle. A water bottle of any size will work for this, but I’m going to use this standard 24-ounce bottle.
Using this size bottle will make the following steps a lot easier.
Next, you’ll need to gather a banana and some sugar.
You can use a banana that’s a little overripe, but make sure that it hasn’t turned into mush yet. If it has then used another, fresher banana.
You’ll also need a good pair of scissors that are nice and sharp. Dull scissors will be of no use to you.
Once you’ve collected all of your tools, it’s time to finally start!
You should start by assembling all of your items in one place, this should be in an open and clean area, like a kitchen counter or a workbench.
Once you have everything together in your work area, you can start building your flycatcher.
Make sure you take care not to cut yourself while you use your scissors to slice the water bottle into two pieces that are (more or less) evenly sized.
Once you’ve done that then grab your sugar and coat the bottom of the water bottle with it. You only need a few tablespoons should suffice, but you should make sure the base is thoroughly covered with sugar!
For the next step you only need some of your banana, so you can actually cut the banana in half and save one part to eat later (you totally deserve it).
Then pick up the other half, peel it, and then slice off a few evenly-sized pieces.
Once your banana pieces are completely cut up and ready to go, place them inside the bottom half of your water bottle on top of the sugar that you added in earlier.
