Last night Adele vowed that she would take a step away from her music career to focus on being a mom as well as dedicating her time to help the victims of the Grenfell Tower incident.
She told the crowd they could do some good and help the victims of the Grenfell Tower by donating the price of a glass of wine from the Wembley bar.
An emotional Adele announced she was dedicating Make You Feel My Love to the Grenfell Tower victims and said:
“I want you to donate with me.
“I’ve been down on the ground near Grenfell tower all week and I’m going back Monday after my shows.”
Adele was quickly praised for her response to the disaster as she was seen hugging victims hours after the fire tore through the West London tower block.
“A lot of the stories I’ve been told aren’t mine to tell. I can’t tell you how out of control and chaotic it is down there.
“It’s two weeks now and they’re still being neglected now as when it happened.
“I’m already raising other money, I’m involved now and I’m doing other stuff – I want all of you who can to donate.
“I know a lot of you have paid a lot of money to be here and I appreciate that.
“But if we’re here we can afford to give 5 pounds.
“It’s disappearing and it’s atrocious that it is, and it’s atrocious that people aren’t getting answers.
“Ask questions and demand answers because it’s f*****g important, it’s f*****g important.
“It’s cheaper to donate than get s***-faced.
“I promise you I will get the money directly to the people involved in that tower.
“You’ll hear lots more from it about me over the next few days, weeks, months and year.”
Last year Adele hinted she would quit touring after she started to struggle with crippling stage fright, but she also wanted to be a full-time mom to her son, Angelo.
““As of Monday morning I am solely a mum. That’s all I’m going to be doing. And I can’t f***ing wait. I’m so excited.
“I am taking a break as of Sunday and I can’t f*****g wait – but the last reason was because I had my son.
“I ended up taking a lot longer off than I thought I would.
“My son has been with me every step of the way. He’s grown up on this tour. And my partner Simon, I don’t think there’s many men that could put up with me.
“He’s been very supportive and I have to thank him publicly. If it wasn’t for him letting me take our baby on your then I don’t know how I would’ve got through it.
“But initially the whole of 25 was all about my son.
“Initially the people I let hear it said ‘oh we love it and love the passion but we’re not sure anyone will like songs about someone they don’t know.”
While speaking to the crowd, Adele vowed:
“I will always write music and I will always put it out. And I hope that you’re always here.
“I might never see you again at a live show. Who knows. But I will remember this for the rest of my life.
“I’ve done 119 shows and these last four will take me up to 123, it has been hard but an absolute thrill and pleasure.
“I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artists have had on me live.
“And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.”
