Wherever we look on the internet, it seems like there are hacks everywhere!
Not that I’m complaining, hacks manage to make life seem a lot easier!
They also help us in most situations, showing us the easy way to do something.
But some of these hacks stem from products we didn’t know had other uses!
I mean, if we knew we could use vinegar for other things sooner than these hacks wouldn’t be as mind blowing!
But did you know that there are some household products you can use to cook a wide range of meals and food.
How incredible is that?
From iron pancakes to grilled peanut butter and jelly toasties, you might just find your next meal in this list!
We really are learning something new everyday! It’s pretty amazing!
Seriously, these hacks are perfect if your stuck in your hotel room and can’t afford pricey room service!
You have to try them out yourself at home!
Here are a few meals you can make using some very unexpected items.
Your going to love them! These meals are just too tasty to hate!
Just be careful if you try them at home!
Don’t believe me? Then check them out for yourself!
1. Grilled Cheese
Who doesn’t love grilled cheese? I love the stuff!
It’s the perfect comfort food, especially on those cold nights when your home alone.
The way the cheese just melts in your mouth is so satisfying!
But did you know you could make it at home using the basic ingredients, aluminium foil, and your iron.
That’s right, the iron you use to iron your clothes!
Just remember to put it on the highest heat setting and have it on the no steam setting!
Just prepare your grilled cheese as you usually would, but wrap it in the aluminium foil. Then press the iron against it for 2 and a half minutes before repeating on the other side.
There you have it, a quick and easy grilled cheese!
S’Mores are the perfect treat, especially when your camping. But it’s also one of the best ways to make those cold winter nights tastier!
Simply lay out a sheet of aluminium, then stack your s’mores as you usually would, but placing another sheet of aluminium on top of the s’more.
Then press the iron on top of the s’more, again no steam and the highest setting, and watch as the marshmallow begins to melt!
Butter the outside of your tortilla wraps before placing your filling between the wraps like you usually would.
Then wrap your quesadilla with aluminium before ironing both sides for two and a half minutes.
There you go, tasty quesadillas in a hurry!
4. Grilled Peanut Butter & Jelly Toasties
Who doesn’t love a yummy pb& jelly sandwich?
But have you ever tried it toasted? Honestly it’s delicious!
All you have to do is butter the outside of the sandwich, and spread peanut butter and jelly on seperate slices of bread before wrapping it in aluminium and toasting it with the iron.
Again, toasting it for two and a half minutes on each side.
Like the toastie hacks, simply wrap your bread in aluminium foil and toast each side for two and a half minutes.
For this hack all you need is pancake batter, aluminium foil and an iron.
Place the foil on top of the iron and let it heat. Again using the highest heat setting and no steam.
Then place a small amount of the pancake batter on top of the foil and wait for it to cook.
Simply cook them like you would normally!
Who knew irons were for more than just ironing clothes?!
This is similar to the pancakes hack.
Simply make a sort of cup shape (or metal cupcake liners) out of the aluminium foil, and place it on the iron, again no steam and highest setting.
Then crack your egg and place it in the foil and watch it cool. This should take 4-7 minutes, depending on how you like your eggs.
Once again, you’ll need to have your iron on the highest setting with no steam.
Simply place a sheet of foil on the iron and add your bacon. It’s really that simple!
9. Left Over Pizza
Put your slice of left pizza on the iron (with a sheet of foil underneath) and wait two and a half minutes to three minutes for it to reheat itself.
Sure it maybe easier to put it in the microwave, but this method is fun and it doesn’t leave your pizza soggy!
10. Dashboard Cookies
I don’t know about you but I love cookies! They’re just so delicious and yummy!
Dashboard cookies are made like normal cookies, but for one big difference. If you can’t guess what it is, I’ll be very surprised!
These cookies are cooked in the car with a little help of the sun.
Make your batch of cookies like you usually would and park your car in a sunny spot on a very hot day.
Place your tray of cookie dough on the dashboard and let it bathe in the sun for 15 minutes.
But this can only happen as long as the temperature outside is hotter than 35 degrees Celsius.
The hot air trapped inside the car should be at least 165 degrees, you can know this temperature with a little help of a thermometer.
All you have to do is wait for your cookies to melt, harden and become yummy treats for you and the family!
11. Drive And Dine
Fish is a simple meal to cook, but did you know it’s best cooked on a car equine?
I bet you didn’t!
The heat and steam the engine generates is the perfect conditions for cooking fish.
But it’s highly recommended that you don’t try this at home unless you have a mechanic to assist you.
For this odd method of cooking, all you have to do is place the marinated fish wrapped in heavy duty aluminium foil behind the car engine and drive for around 40 minutes.
Just be very careful while removing the fish from the engine, make sure you use oven mittens.
12. Eggs In A Bag
Camping is fun, especially when your doing it with the right people.
But cooking a decent meal when camping can be tricky, but thankfully cooking a yummy breakfast has just gotten a little easier.
All you have to do is line the base of a paper bag with bacon strips. Then simply crack two eggs on top, seal the top of the bag and place over the fire with a stick.
But how does it work?
Well the fat from the bacon prevents the bag from burning, meaning no accidental fire! Pretty neat, right?
13. Beer Bottom Chicken
This next cooking method sounds odd. Cooking chicken with a beer can, in the butt? How weird, right?
Well yes, it’s very weird. But it’s a great trick and you should try it at home!
All you have to do is marinate the chicken with olive oil, salt, pepper and (of course) herbs after removing the insides from the cavity.
Now this is the yummy bit. Take a few swigs from your beer can and then insert it in the cavity of the chicken.
This will literally perch the chicken upwards. It looks and sounds weird but it does work!
Let the chicken dry roast in the oven or on a barbecue pit for roughly an hour.
When the chicken is cooked all you have to do is serve it!
You’ll be surprised by how tasty it is!
